Known as the "Million Dollar Theatre" and the "Grandest Theatre in the South," when it first opened its doors in 1925, the Strand Theatre is listed, today, on the National Register of Historic Places. The theatre is located at the southwest end of downtown, within walking distance of the Oakland Cemetery. Throughout the last several years, the Strand has celebrated record-breaking seasons, bringing Cats, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story, and much more, to the Shreveport community.
